Fred & Ginger's Sidekicks

Sunday afternoon was our "Dance class" again and we were so happy that Kelly's parents decided to join us. I must say that these guys we all have, are pretty awesome to go along with us girls, hairbrain ideas! All three of them were so cute, trying to look as though they knew what they were doing. I think some nightly practice would do us all good. Karin and Pat, thanks for joining us, at least we all had some good laughs.

A Great Night with a Friend

Well, I didn't have my stinkin camera tonight so I have no pictures to share but I do have the memory and pictures in my mind. Chris went to spend the night with a friend, so naturally I was looking for a place to plant myself. I HATE to be alone, so I called Michelle and told her I would bring over salad fixins and a great bottle of wine and she jumped on the idea. I had such a great time hanging out with her and talking all about our childhoods, childrearan disasters and watching OPRAH. It actually took us 4 1/2 hours to get through 1 episode of OPRAH because of all the stopping, analyzing our lack of child rearing skills, home decorating ideas, and spicy marriage plans. I had a great evening with you, Michelle. Thanks for sharing your life with me and letting me into a little bit more of you.

Gorgeous Bike ride with Great Friends

Today after church, Ken and Dana called and came up with the great idea to go for a bike ride. We met them at our house about 11:00, got down to Chico and had a great lunch at Sierra Nevada and then took off. Oh, how I LOVE to be on a bike, with the wind in my face and the sun on my back!!! It is such a pure pleasure to me and having great friends along for the ride makes it, well, let's just say, it doesn't get much better! Everywhere I looked was blooming and I love it. Thanks you two, for coming up here and sharing this gorgeous day with us.

Summer's Chico Shower

Today was Summy's Chico shower. Des had it at her house and it turned out so nice. She and Bryan had made the most beautiful invitations and sent out cards for everyone to fill out, giving marriage advice, or a scripture or quote and also a recipe card. Some people shared their advice and scriptures. It just made the shower have a nice personal touch. I was so thankful for all the friends and family that showed up to support "my girl". She was truly blessed!

Sweetie's New Toy

O.K., so I should'nt have mentioned that I wanted to rent a motorcycle, to get away to relax, with my sweetie after this wedding. I really need to be careful when I casually talk about things like this. Hence, this is what happens! I do love to ride like the wind, but then the practical side of me says, no, no, no; you are a mom and dad now, and need to be safe, careful and conservative. You are too old to be gallivanting around in leathers on some motorcycle. Then the right side of my brain talks back and responds with, "Oh, but it's SO much fun, and it really is YOU, unsafe and non-conservative. So, here we go on yet another adventure. Please pray for us that GOD will watch over us and have mercy and bring us home safely everytime we take off.

Spring Cleaning

Well, I decided that April 1st was going to be the day that I would tackle the "Changing of the Guard" so to speak with my clothes. I pulled all my summer clothes out from under my bed 2 weeks ago and there they have sat, staring at me everyday. Last night at 11:15, I couldn't take it anymore and decided, right as I was crawling into bed, to go through all my winter stuff and store it neatly away, until the very solemn day, when hopefully at least 6 months later, I would have to pull them all out again and get through another cold, wet, hard, sad, winter! :-(
My word!!!!!! Where in the world do all these clothes come from??? Did I actually purchase all this stuff?? It really makes me very ashamed of myself every spring and fall when I have to go through it all because I seriously have enough stuff to clothe all my wives and the rest of the women in this town also! It is ridiculous how much excess there is. I want to do better but I really LOVE clothes and I have come to realize that they seem to collect me without me realizing it.

Close to the End of School with Chris's Teacher

Today we met with Chris's teacher, Mrs. Severin for our monthly meeting to turn in all the work that he has done for the month. He had been working really hard to try and get done early with school, due to the fact that his mom has been pushing that idea and using the leverage that he could have more of his summer if he finishes early:) His grades were really good, except for math which we struggle some with. I can hardly wait for summer to get here. It is absolutely my very favorite thing in life and I think I look forward to it more than he does. I remember counting the days off of a calendar I kept in my bedroom window and feeling the excitement grow as I anticipated every minute of my summer vacation and being in the gorgeous sunshine. Well, we just got back from working out and I think a bubble bath is in order. Have a great Thurs. and enjoy everything thats in bloom!
