Another Fun date with "Girlfriends"

Oh, how I love "girlfriends"! They build me up, counsel me, laugh with me and at me, try to solve all of lifes many complexities, love my kids and vise versa, love good food with me and good wine, dogs, playing and dressing up. I cherish each and every one of them and thank GOD every day for all the relationships in my life that give it so much meaning.
Today, 3 of us snuck away for lunch at Sierra Nevada. I love these times together when we laugh and talk and laugh and talk somemore. I swear I can never get enough of it. What would life be like without our friends to help us and guide us through all the muck of life? I never want to know. Thanks, you guys for being my friends, I love ya!

A Moment in Time with Siri

I had SO much fun kidnapping Siri for the afternoon and running in Bidwell Park! Her mom is away in Washington D.C. and knowing how much she misses Kari, I stopped by her house today and decided to go for a run with her. I absolutely LOVE that dog and GOD forbid that the Lambert's ever drop off the face of the earth suddenly, let it be known that I have dibs on that dog! I then decided to take her for an ice cream cone at Shuberts and it was all the treat I needed to see her enjoy her banana flavored ice cream and even lick the bowl! I could just see it in her eyes,"there are absolutely some things in life that are just too good to be true", and this was one of them. She loved it and gave me a sloppy banana flavored kiss to thank me.

"Flatflower Bike Race"

What a fun day!!!! I know that I sound redundant about my days and how much I am enjoying them but the fact of the matter is that I love them to the max and it's something that I am so thankful for. We attempted to do the "flatflower" bike race on Sunday and it was a blast! It is a huge race that takes place in Chico every year. We rode in the midst of the "REAL BIKERS" and they seemed to pass us like we were standing still. It kind of irked me, but when we had the chance I pumped up our group to take out some of them, only to have them pass us a few minutes later. It really was fun and my goal for next year is to double our mileage and come in for the "GOLD" Ha I would love it if more of the people I love could join us for the fun. After the race, we crashed on the lawn of a park and much to the boys delight, found an ice-cream truck to raid. These days are so precious to me and the minutes in them are never long enough!

Too Much Fun Saturday

Question #1 for the day is: Is it EVER possible to have too much fun in one day?? ANSWER: NEVER!! Today was packed full of it. Sweetie and I woke up this morning and headed out on a joy-ride on the motorcycle. We had breakfast at one of our favorite spots in Chico and I sang along with my I-Pod the whole way down the hill. Question #2 is: What do a bunch of red-neck, hick people from the country do for fun on a Saturday morning but meet with their youngins and shoot at each other with a bunch of air-guns. These boys LOVE it and I love seeing them have so much fun, even though, I must admit I don't understand it. Aren't they a motley looking crew? We then moved on to have 7 large pizza's downed in a matter of minutes, AMAZING! Next stop, Baseball! Lately, baseball is always included in a good-day. I managed to fit in a short bike ride to meet Kari at her grandmas house only to miss them by minutes. Kari then came over and she tried on all of the inventory from T.J. Max for me, to get my advice on what to take to Washington D.C. I then tried on my dress for the wedding for her, and we reveled in being "Girls". B.B.Q. ribs and hot fudge sundaes ended the day and I ask myself what in the world I am doing eating this crap, except that I couldn't help myself. That seems to be the story of my life, I just can't help myself. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow is the "Wildflower Bike Race" in Chico. Looking forward to that................................
P.S. Sorry for all the pictures, there was just a lot to share today!

Fun Friday!

Today, I met a couple of good friends for "tea" and lunch at one of our favorite little spots in Chico. Since I am a huge fan of tea, this place is a frequent flyer of mine. We sat outside and although it was a little chilly, it was beautiful. These two gals are big time, crazy runners and I can only hope that when I grow up I can run like they do. I decided to forgo the run that they so eagerly participated in and just met them for the tea, which was a really good choice on my part. We had a nice lunch and then I went shopping for "hall stuff" since we are redoing our long overdue, crappy hallway.
Des and Brian and the boys came over tonight to help sweetie with Summy's wedding video and we all had a blast jumping on the trampoline. Brianator, you are SO funny and being around you and your awesome family is always a treat. That trampoline has been the BEST investment we ever made for enjoyment for our kids. It has lasted literally, years and we still have so much fun on it, not to mention, it's great exercise!

Life is FULL!!

Well,
No pictures today, only thoughts! My life is so full right now of so many people that I love to be with, the gorgeous sunshine that I love to be in, my beautiful daughters wedding plans that seem to keep multiplying by the minute, my adorable younger sons many activities and teaching school that always involve me, my trying to get my adorable older son's room ready for his arrival for his birthday, my painting and remodeling a portion of our house, my exercise class and routine that I totally love and look forward to, my writing offers on homes and work related stuff, my gardening ambitions and my sweet husband's desire for any free time (if there is such a thing) to go for joy rides on his favorite new toy in the whole world, his Motorcycle! Whew, it makes me tired sometimes and today was one of those days where I wanted the world to STOP and let me off. I actually did get off of it for a short time and crawled in my bed and took a brief nap, which is something that I NEVER do. I woke up an hour and a half later and felt guilty for the time I took for myself. It was a bit of heaven and I realized that I could only do the nap thing because it was cloudy outside. If it had been sunny and nice I would have insisted on myself being outside doing something else. So, I am thankful that the weather was marginal. Anyway, lunch with awesome friends is scheduled for tomorrow and many laughs will insue I'm sure of that. I totally LOVE my friends. They bring me so much joy!

Little Piece of God's Beauty

Tonight was another "Lilac Run". The three bouquets that I quietly helped myself to a few days ago from anonymous Paradisians were looking a little done, so to speak, so after dinner the three of us took a dog walk/lilac run/Baskin and Robbins trec. It was so incredibly beautiful out tonight and the dogs came unglued when they realized that they were invited. On the way home, I couldn't see these tiny, purple wonders but I kept getting a wiff of their amazing scent every few feet. Once again, I gave in to my desire to fill my house with their sweet smell. Have I mentioned lately how much I love this time of year and the Summertime to look forward to. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!

Baseball, Baseball and more Baseball

We seem to have the softball, baseball bug around here now that the weather has gotten so beautiful. Rich played at the practice for the church team today and from the looks of him when he got home, there are going to be some sore bones tomorrow. Bert, Chris and I rode our bikes over to the game and watched and cheered for awhile, then left and went on a great little ride up the bike path. I really love to ride, it's one of my favorite forms of excercise. When we got home, Chris wanted to go out and play some more catch in the front yard with his dad, so out they went again. I love to see them run around and get all sweaty. Then we went to our dance class and shared many laughs again with the Burns and Kelly and Summer. Our guys are so cute and they try so hard. It really is funny to see how hard they try to concentrate. It was a great Sunday, thankfullness abounds!!

Impromptu Baseball Game

Oh, how I love spring and summer!! I absolutely can't get enough of it, EVER! After we plowed through school today and finished up science for the year (YEAH!!!!) we met up with Kari and Lisa and their boys and dogs for some time at upper bidwell park. It is so beautiful right now and watching Siri, Kari's dog, in complete and utter happiness over chasing her ball over and over and over again was well worth getting together all by itself. She just ozzes excitement over her ball and jumping in the water. It really is something to see! There is so much we can learn from dogs, the simple joys of life. Then we met sweetie at the park with our bats and balls and all the boys played baseball, while us girls cheered them on. They had a blast and so did the big guys! I love seeing my men sweat and have fun and there was plenty of that to go around.

New Tile in Kitchen

I am finally bitting the bullet and replacing that hideous stuff that we put down to cover the other hideous stuff that someone else put down in our kitchen. I'm so excited to have Ryan do it for us because Rich just doesn't have the time to take on this project. The cheap stuff that we had put down last year could not even be cleaned any more and the floor always looked like I was a slob! This old house has been quite a continuous project for us but for some reason I love it here and can't picture myself anywhere else.

Saturday Morning Ride

Saturday morning, sweetie and I decided to go out to breakfast in Chico and then stop by the farmers market for some "fresh" stuff to bring home. Only problem was, that we had decided to take the motorcycle and carrying things presented a bit of a problem. I don't really have a motorcycle mentality yet and seem to want to go shopping when we are out for a ride and then have nowhere to put anything. It was a beautiful day though and I did find this GORGEOUS cactus plant that I had to take a picture of. It looked like paper, but was real. It was so pretty. So Sat. it was about 76 and today I look out the window, and it's snowing??? Go figure, I thought we were all done with the cold, wet stuff??? Rain, rain go away, I want the sun back everyday! I'm So silly!!!

Easter 2009

We had so much fun today for Easter. Bert & Hailey and Summy and Kelly came over for an early dinner after church. It was such a beautiful day and now, all of my tulips have finally showed their gorgeous heads. We B.B.Q. marinated lamb chops and marinated maui maui and chicken. I cooked some small red potatoes that were delicious, summy made an awesome salad and then we grilled some asparagus. The only thing missing was my Ry Guy, which I did miss terribly! I SO wish you could have been here Ry. It seems now that the kids are older, someone is always missing and that makes things feel incomplete somehow. Summy and Rich were practicing their dance moves to the song that Summy wants to dance with her dad to at the wedding. It was so much fun watching them and Rich looked very serious in all the pictures that I took except this one. He said he had to concentrate! It was a great Easter Day!

Good Friday at Scot & Jacky's

Last night, we got to spend Good Friday at Scot and Jacky's. It was such a nice time to eat, laugh, pray and just be together. Scot cooked a lamb, which was delicious and then everybody brought something else to share. Wendy, your butter, butter cake sent me over the MOON!!!! I gotta have that recipe, or maybe I should'nt. After we all stuffed our faces, we gathered around and Tom read from the bible and different people talked about their feelings about this special day. We had communiun and prayed and it really touched me. I love those intimate times. Hope everyone has a blessed Easter and remembers to be "Thankful"!

Day at The Sutter Buttes

What a great day at the Sutter Buttes. I wasn't sure that I wanted to go on this field trip today because I thought it was going to rain and everyone knows how much I love that, but I decided to follow through and try to make the best of it! It was one of those times that I'm so glad I did! I can't even describe how beautiful it was. Every color of green imaginable was displayed on a palate of wonder! Those small range of mountains have always held a certain mistery to me, so to be able to go in and see them close up was a real treat. We climbled, with a guide, to the top of one of the smaller peaks, and the view was nothing short of amazing. We ate lunch under a gorgeous old oak tree and it was definately a day to remember. I'm so glad I talked myself into it!
